What is a Restricted Movement Zone (RMZ)?
A RMZ is an area of approximately 2km established around a site where EHB has been found.
Due to several EHB infested properties being located in close proximity, surrounding RMZ areas have over time merged to become large RMZ areas, comprising a number of infested sites. There are currently 10 RMZ areas in Western Australia.
Up until September 2010, new sites generally resulted in the extension of current RMZ boundaries, rather than creation of a new RMZ area.
There have been no RMZ boundary changes since September 2010.
Should further changes be made in the future, new boundary descriptions of the affected RMZ area will be published in the government gazette and in local newspaper public notices. The notices will provide details of the RMZ restrictions imposed by the Agriculture and Related Resources Protection (European House Borer) Regulations 2006.
